British Gas Homecare - Don't Forget To Haggle!

I had our renewal through this week and it had gone up by about £4 for the year.

So a quick phone call to them giving my usual speech ' I am struggling to justify this product any more'

£28 taken off the total amount.

The trouble is I have haggled everything now and have nothing left to do until next year.

British gas homecare is pretty good for this, I do that literally every year with ours too and they always end up knocking a decent amount off!

I must do this! I’m useless at monitoring our utility bills and insurance premiums

I do the same - it’s an annual conversation. One year they reduced the price but sneakily introduced an excess. I asked them to review the call and confirmed it wasn’t mentioned so honoured the agreed deal plus gave an M&S voucher as a goodwill gesture.

As I had free drains and electric from haggling last year mine went up by over £200, quick phone call got it £30 cheaper than this year

I've just had my gas and electric renewal through so I've still got one more haggle left this year

Mine dropped by £20... not complaining. First time I haven’t had to haggle

We got British Gas Homecare last year as our local man seemed to have disappeared. This year it went up by £20. Phoned up to haggle but they said that was the cheapest they could do for our area. We have the full package and it is still cheaper than the local firm was charging just for the boiler and radiators, and we thought that was a bargain.

Ali. Please tell me that's not just for central heating and boiler!
