it's like G-force at Drayton Manor it holds you so tight you dont need to hold on but you might want to cradle your head.

Great ride...went on it last year... but I had a big issue.. being a portly jap! I only just about fitted in the restraint. As we came out of the first drop.. my ribs popped over the cradle... so for the rest of the ride my ribs were taking the force onto the cradle around my waist.. I was actually trying to stand up to relieve the pressure... happily ended up fine and did not bust a rib! but was a bit nervy at the time. lost a bit of weight now so if I get a chance again I will be first on as it's a great ride and a great coaster!

I love roller coasters. Hate this ride. It is really rough and I got off with a bad head. I won’t go on it again. Also Oblivion is actually my favourite ride at Alton Towers and I don’t think it is similar to RRR.

I’d say the ride it most reminds me of at Disney is Aerosmith. Obviously the harness is different but trust me you won’t feel as if you’re going to fall out. I find Hulk and Kracken worse for banging my head around but I do feel that the track requires replacing as like Hulk, before the refurb, you feel every little bump going. Do it, it’s good plus you can pick your own music.

My Universal favourite!
I don’t see the likeness to Oblivion - it’s certainly longer!
My son, who is a real coaster junkie will not ride it and my grandson declined to ride a second time. They both said they found it really uncomfortable due to the lap bar/ harness/restraint.
Looking at the restrictions my son 6’4’’ just made the upper height limit and my grandson just made the lower limit. My daughter and myself 5’4’’ ish had no problems.

I've never found RRR rough or giving me a headache.

Only coaster I have been on I would be reticent to get on again though is Skyrush at Hershey, simply because you hang off the side, and there is no lap bar, over head restraint etc, but a pad that clamps just on the top of your thighs. You feel like you may fall out at any moment (no doubt the intention) and there is a lot of pressure on the thighs. I have never seen anything like that one.

The most headache-inducing coaster I think I have been on is Kumba as the G force gets the back of your head there, but I still love that one.

I've found not keeping your head hard against the chair but instead "going with the flow" helps the head banging. Probably goes against all safety recommendations but works for me. Only exception is the hill climb, relax my head back for that 😂

My niece got quite serious concussion at Pleasurewood Hills on Wipeout so that's a local one I tend to avoid.

We decided we would face our fears and go on Hulk and RRR for the first time last year. We did Hulk and loved it, but after inspecting the chair outside RRR we decided we could not to it without an over the shoulder restraint. I don't know how people are not slipping off the back on the initial vertical climb.
