It’d be quicker than driving to Devon (our usual U.K. break destination) so yes absolutely.
I’ve done several 2 and 3 night trips to Vegas too . Looking at the weather here right now I’d be very happy to escape it for 2 nights at the moment. Don’t see what Facebook has to do with it at all ... I was doing these short jaunts before Facebook even existed |

A friend of mine went to Sydney for the weekend to see her boyfriend. I say if you can afford it, why not?!

If its a fairly short flight/drive then 2 nights is fine, but Tenerife is 4.5hours so I would be looking for a min of 3/4 nights. We have done Frankfurt and Bruges for 2 nights, nice wee taster

Well yes if I had the budget I would go. It's difficult to say for sure until the occasion arose.
If it were a short break for just DH and I or if I went with DD I'd try and stretch to 3 nights. We are less than 30 minutes drive to two UK airports, and I know somewhere like Barcelona is a quick journey into the city once there. Those and other factors come into it

Nope, and only cause I hate the travel home day, so would want a lunchtime flight, basically meanings travel all that time and way for 1.5days and that’s only if it was a stupid early flight out.

I would go on a short flight, maybe 2.5 hours maximum. It’s not just the flight though, it’s the journey to the airport, 2 hours in the airport and the transfer the other side I couldn’t be doing with. Possibly more doable in the summer with less chance of cancellations due to bad weather. We have done 3 days but only on relatively short flights. I don’t particularly like flying and would just be thinking of the flight home all the time. I don’t sleep for the first few days of being away either.

I love travelling so I'd go on short trips without hesitation especially over a weekend which means no days off work; add in some sunshine and an airport lounge would make it even better!
When we go on short trips we pack light so just 'grab and go'; our carry on cases never make it into the loft between trips! I like having a chat with my hubby in the car on the way to the airport as I never get chance to catch up with him otherwise despite working with him as life is just too hectic at home. Sometimes I take extra flights just for tier points so that as a family we all benefit from the status perks that apply to our whole party on long haul trips. |

We have been to WDW for a weekend before so no problems for us going abroad for a couple of days.
