iPhone screen repair

Daughter dropped her iPhone yesterday and has small crack in the screen.
I wondered if anyone had a rough idea of how much we should expect it to cost to repair. She will be paying for it herself and is just too upset about it for me to be mad at her !

I think it's around the £160 mark at the Apple store but you could get it done for around half the price at other stores.

Crikey £160 ! Apple store would be too far away anyway. Will go in to town later and price up locally. Don’t understand why she didn’t have screen protector on it !

I paid £50 for an I pad mini, at a local shop, not Apple. So I would expect the phone to be cheaper. The start button was sticking on mine and they had to replace the screen unit to rectify it.
Get a screen saver in B &M for the new one.

That sounds a bit better. I bought her a couple of screen savers and put them in her Christmas stocking, lord knows where they went ! Poor girl has been selling online this week saving for new clothes. It will be a lesson learnt.

If it’s only a small crack she could get a tempered glass screen protector to secure it
I can only vouch for an awful screen that was replaced on an iPhone 5 of mine back in the day - cost about £29 for the part (and a friend fitted it) and it was not good, hence I’d be inclined to secure it and await upgrade!

Yes, then it is £150 at Apple. Best option, google and see if there are local repairers- probably £50-£60.

There must be something in the water! My 14 year old dd dropped her iPhone 7 yesterday and smashed screen. We just took it to a local place and they fixed it for £35. It's better than it was before and she's chuffed to bits.
