Anaheim and Universal City

Evening,

We are looking to book LA for October this year, the plan is to spend 3 Nights in Anaheim Hilton to do Disney, and then 4 nights in Universal City, so we can do Universal, Hollywood etc and all the sites over that way.

The plan is to do Disney whilst in Anaheim and maybe a trip out to Palm Springs, then use Universal as base to do Hollywood Sign, Warner Bros Tour, Santa Monica, Hollywood Boulevard, Shopping, Horror Nights

Is Universal Hilton a good base to see everything over that that way ?

Cheers

Firstly your plan for a trip to palm springs, you know its about 100 miles each way and so a 2 hour drive each way (subject to traffic)
The Hilton is ideal for universal and city walks as its just across the road. Warner studio is only a couple of mile away. Or you can use a local bus with a little walk each end about 30 mins in total. For hollywood blvd you can walk to the Red metro and then its about 5 mins on the metro. Santa monica is the one you need to check out as that is about a 50 min drive. For shopping glendale is quiet nice and is about a 15 minute drive.
One thing to keep in mind if you have a car they will charge you $30 a day for parking at the hotel.

It can take (min) 2 Hours to drive to PS but it often takes over 4 for me purely due to traffic (and there is major road construction taking place near Cabazon that can’t be avoided at the moment which can tail back for miles) - I would def go to PS but plan to stay a night or so atleast .

I might rethink the Palm Spring trip, we fancied the Cable Car and I thought id read it was like an hour away but if its 2 hours then meeeeh, maybe not.

My main concern is, is Hilton Universal a good base for everything else we want to fit in that's not Disney, we will have a car as I think that's the easiest and cheapest option for us, albeit we will have to factor in the parking charges too.

Anyone know when Horror Nights Tickets are released too ? Many thanks.

The Ariel tramway in Palm Springs is amazing and will be open in October again after summer maintenance. Maybe worth thinking of going and staying over night ? There are some beautiful trails up there and well worth a few hours exploring
