Collecting Hertz from Marriott Grande Lakes

We need a 7 seater this year and have been checking prices regularly - up to now the best price is £595 booking through virgin. That’s for 12 days from 26th July collecting from Disney Car Centre. We would get the magical express from and to the airport.

But I have now found a bargain with Hertz for £423 (potentially another 10% off using a discount code as well) but it has to be collected from the Hertz desk at JW Marriott Grande Lakes (there are other options but they are even further away). Anywhere closer to Disney area the price increases to more than the Virgin one. I have looked at dropping off at the airport but that pushes the price up as well.

Just can’t decide about this - it’s a big saving but then we would need to get to the Marriott to pick it up and also get back to our hotel after we drop it off ...

How much of a hassle would it be to get an Uber (never done that before).

I don't suppose you managed to find out any other information regarding this? I have the same quandary. We are staying in an airport hotel the night we arrive and driving to Clearwater the following morning. We could save £170 by getting an Uber to Hertz at Marriot Grande Lakes rather than picking it up at the airport. It seems like it could be worth the hassle for such a saving, but would be interested in any reasons people could offer to avoid/go for it!

We are picking our Hertz rental up at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista (booked through Costco). Saved over £300 picking up there 2days in, as opposed to MCO. We are taking ME from airport and will drop car back at MCO when we leave.

Hello, well we decided against it and ended up collecting from Disney Car Care Centre instead. We did use Uber once or twice when we were there last year and it was pretty straightforward so it’s definitely doable.
