Mobile Christmas 2020 - Newport Bay or Sequoia Lodge?

As part of the deal on offer for this Christmas is half board dining which I believe is hotel breakfast + a voucher for either lunch or dinner somewhere?

To that end we are debating between a standard room at Newport Bay or a Golden Forest room at SL.

Can anyone share any experiences of either?

What are the benefits of a Golden Forest room and is it worth it? I am leaning towards this but just not sure at all as I have never been to DLP so it feels like a totally new thing to plan.

Thanks for any thoughts

With the GF rooms you get: separate check in area, breakfast and afternoon snacks/drinks in the GF lounge, one hotel fast pass per person per night. We’ve booked this for July mainly for the fast passes. The hotel itself is good as stayed previously but not at GF.

I’ve always thought of Sequoia Lodge as a winter hotel, and Newport Bay as a summer hotel, so I’d pick SL for a Christmas trip.

We stayed at the Newport bay hotel on our Christmas trip last year! It was lovely and I’d defo recommend. It was my mums choice and I can’t fault it but I liked the look of SL a lot. I think if I went back in winter I would stay there! Don’t think you can go wrong at either tho!

I absolutely agree with this! It will be so cosy at Christmas... I would 100% go Sequoia Lodge!

We’ve just booked SL for our Nov trip! First time NOT doing gf, couldn’t justify the cost, it was over £400 for for 4 nights. Can’t really see the value when you are getting the dining plan included.

We have stayed in both and much preferred NBC and have booked there for next year. Mind you we did stay compass club last time so that may have affected my choice!

I prefer Newport Bay club. We have also stayed in both. We are booked for Dec there. We will still have an evening meal in Hunters grill though.
