I am just off the phone to them. I got two separate emails yesterday cancelling flights , one for my nov 2020 trip and another for my March 2021 trip, I moved departure airports from Edinburgh to Aberdeen and onto Mco via LHR, this will be so much better than going from Edinburgh as I live 5mins from Aberdeen airport. I had to add one extra night onto the nov trip but instead of costing more I actually got money back ! And also got money back for the hotel part of the trip for my March trip, So am very happy, the guy I spoke to last night was incredibly helpful

Not a fan of VS then?
We might even consider them again from MAN if they don't hang on to our £1,900 for much longer - just about 120 days now for our cancelled April flights. Mick

Thanks. I'm certainly not one who pays ridiculous sums of money just because the cabin crew wear red instead of blue.
I had the option of a refund from BA after they cancelled so I did check VS from MAN for our Nov flight and they were around £500 dearer for two PE seats. This is from a company who have just had a massive financial bail out but don't seem to grasp the business development idea of offering competitive prices. I'm not a VS "hater" as some Dibbers seem to be as we've used them far more over the years that any other airline and I'm being very tolerant of their tardiness but I'll only consider them in future when they start offering decent prices. Mick

I fully agree with you. I’m certainly not pro-VIrgin. The best value for money will usually get my business.
Unfortunately with the fold of TC, VS are now the only direct option from MAN and I think they can get away with charging even more than previously (although they’ve always had some ridiculous fares) as some people will just not buy indirect flights. It seems BA have handled the current refund process much better than Virgin and so for the near future I can see me leaning towards indirect(not necessarily BA) over VS. |

Yes I've certainly sang the praises of TC PE from MAN on here a few times. Seats 7A&C and the best outbound food of them all. Sadly all history now
We're both 74 and, to be honest, the 9 hour flight and the bits at either end are enough for us so never really looked at indirect. We know what we expect to pay for a holiday and happy to stay inside those limits when we can. We even have to pay c£850 for annual travel insurance. But if we want to go to our happy place we find the money. Mick
