Whenever we are in the US on the fourth instead of doing big attractions we head out to small little communities all of whom tend to do some carnival type thing to celebrate, it's great to be part of it (until you remember they are celebrating kicking our ≈≈≈≈≈)

How's this for a Main Street July 4th parade?

Genuinely on Main Street …… Main Street, Sandwich on Cape Cod. We heard that the parade was passing the Dan'l Webster where we were staying so we joined all the locals and waved the Stars & Stripes that someone gave us. It was a fantastic experience.

Most of our trips have included 4th July. A couple of points.

We've travelled 4th July and it was great. Airport was quieter on arrival as most Americans travel to be in Orlando for 4th July.

When we've travelled earlier and been their for the 4th on recent trips we've avoided the parks as they were jam packed. Instead we've opted for Celebration. Went for late lunch and a walk about. We've pre booked dinner them picked a good spot for the fireworks. Very laid back and much better than fighting with the Q's in the parks.

We did MK on the 3rd and Hollywood studios on the 4th. An amazing experience on the 4th. The atmosphere was brilliant and the fireworks were on another level. Crowds were manageable and as others have said, great sales

We had to leave soon after though as we had been kept waiting for our table out in the baking heat for about half an hour (we had turned up on time). When we left lunch to go on Snow white I felt suddenly unwell. We had to head back to villa as I had a really upset stomach and felt really sick. I was fine a few hours later and we went back to the ticket and transportation area to watch the fireworks from there.

We drove obviously to MK in the morning then back at night. Roads were fine. If you plan you'll be fine. I have no idea what the shops would be like though.

In general the week is no busier than when we go mid July to beg of August (IMO).
We thought much the same. Not even differant fireworks.

last year we spent the 4th at Celebration. Fantastic time, bands playing music, hot dog and burger stands, activities for kids and a great display at the end. If you go arrive early as parking later became a nightmare for those that came later.

We did 4th of July a few years ago. Staying on I drive. Only issue for us was that restaurants were more busy and some closed earlier than usual.
Outside of the parks there didn’t seem to be any celebrations in the I drive area.
We spent the day at HS and this wasn’t any busier than usual.

So far, thats what we are planning this year... couple of fastpasses at HS, then down to Celebration for dinner at 4pm at the town tavern... is parking around 3pm early enough?
