Full board questions
Planning a trip for January. Never been DLP before but the booking I’ve found includes free full board.
How does this work I’m slightly confused. From what I gather I get a free counter service breakfast to be used in the parks. Then lunch and dinner will be a buffet style dinner in selected restaurants. Firstly are these okay? Not my usual choice of food buffets, and secondly can the credits be swapped for counter service ones? Also am I able to use any of the credit in the ‘village’ Edited at 08:05 AM. |

The level of plan you get depends on which hotel you stay in. From what you have said it sounds like this is the 'standard' plan which comes with bookings in the Santa Fe, Cheyenne and Davy Crockett Ranch. Are you looking at one of those hotels?
If so then your lunch/dinner voucher will cover you 7 resturants in total all of them buffets. Two are in the Disneyland Park, one in the Studios and one in the Village. The other three are at the above mentioned hotels. As well as fully covering you for those buffets you can choose to use your vouchers at 'face value' - each voucher has a cash value which you can put towards a more expensive restaurant (say, table service or character dining) and then pay the difference out of pocket. You can also 'downgrade' to a counter service meal if you want - but that isn't getting the best value out of the plan since the counter service meal will probably be worth around half the value of the vouchers. Hope that all makes sense. |

Which restaurants are best to go to?
Am I right in thinking I get breakfast counter service then 2 buffet meals for lunch and dinner? Also do I need to make reservations or can I just walk into the restaurants? We’re travelling 20-24 January if that makes a difference Completely new to DLP so confused |

All buffets are pretty much the same except for Agrabah Cafe, which is Moroccan (?) themed. It is delicious and one of our favourites but not for fussy eaters! Which hotel are you staying in? That will affect where you can eat. If you got the deal from a UK site then yes, you get counter service breakfast and 2 other meal vouchers for each nighit of your stay. There may be places other than buffets that you can eat at - that depends on what hotel you're staying at. Technically you can walk into a restaurant but I would definitely advise booking as they can (and frequently do) get fully booked. |

You could also ring and upgrade your vouchers to another level once you have made your booking. You pay the difference between the levels. If you do wish to use your voucher at face value then remember not all restaurants are on the plan, the majority are but, Rainforest Cafe, Planet Hollywood and King Ludwig’s are not on the plan at all.

The meal plan itself cannot be upgraded but you can use the voucher as a credit towards a meal and pay the difference. You do lose the free drink option though if you do this. The standard voucher is worth about €29. There are several restaurants in the village. I have attached a mealguide which I found really helpful. dlpguide/planning/dining/meal-plans/ |

[QUOTE=Smilesonfaces;13528580]Edited to say that full board will be an awful lot of food to get through. I don’t think I could do 3 full 3 course meals a day. Maybe a buffet lunch and table service evening meal would be good. You may find you are spending too much time eating and away from the actual parks.
