we have been twice and stayed at MGM both times. We hope to back next year and will again stay at MGM.
It may sound ridiculous but we adore the lazy river . We also like the position on the strip and enjoy an early morning stroll for breakfast. Yes, it’s a large hotel and probably I’d stay at New York New York for the “feel” of a hotel but the lazy river swings it for us. Up, stroll, breakfast, into some hotels on the way back and then down to the lazy river for a few hours before doing something in the afternoon when it’s usually too hot for the OH to be in the sun . |

Hi again we stayed at the signature suits as well in a one bedroom suite. Full kitchen, big l,room with wc of this, big bedroom with 6 ft bed with en-suite 2 sinks, large bath and double shower,we. L,room had double pull out bed. Various options Available, these can be booked via MGM or as we did via Airbnb with owner which worked out cheaper. These where still serviced by mgm staff.

I love Vdara suites but the pool is its weakest selling point - depends how often you would use the pool but wouldn’t say it was created with children in mind

Of the ones we have stayed at:
Signature Suites at MGM Vdara Mandalay Bay Venetian Tuscany Suites Bally’s My suggestion would be the Signature or Mandalay Bay because the pools are much more fun for children. Because the position of Mandalay Bay is furthest south I’d probably pick Signature for a kid friendly trip, lots of affordable food options in the mall across the road and you have some ability to fix food in your room too. The pool at Vdara was not great. My favourite hotel is the Venetian (depending on price) and my kids loved it there too. Bally’s was my favourite location overall so far. But much of this is price dependant, so my suggestion is to have a list of possibles and make your mind up later when prices are known? Rather than lock into a hotel which may prove poor value later due to events / conventions happening there (if that’s even a thing next year)

With having 3 kids with you, unless you are looking at 2 rooms and 2 resort fees I would go with a suite. I agree with Karen Signature Suites are lovely, and you get to use MGM pool which is great for kids. On the same road, there is also the Carriage House which do suites. On the same road again there is Marriotts Grand Chateau. I have not stayed there myself, but been inside and they are lovely. All of these hotels are a 5 minute walk to the strip. You do know you have to pay for parking at most hotels on or very near the strip? Carriage House has free parking but the pool is small. We like to be on, or near the strip as we like to have a couple of cocktails while out.
As Karen said Ballys is an amazing location but you would need 2 rooms. Have stayed there many times and love it. If you see one you like, and its free cancellation as most are, we pay a deposit then if the rate goes down we cancel and re book. We book with the hotels own website. |

Thanks so much for that information I hadn’t actually accounted for 2 rooms being 2 resort fees so thanks for reminder, will have a look at those you mentioned😀 and I’m also doing as you suggested and looking at all hotels for our trip that have free cancellations
