I would be keeping them boxed and allowing the electrician to do the whole job.

These are the fans we have (all 3 the same one just has a different box)

Usually people left them in the box for me to assemble and install, but sometimes the customer would assemble them which was fine, providing of course they were done properly

Can't advise but just wanted to say I'm envious of anyone who lives in an area warm enough to warrant fitting ceiling fans

It's been warm enough her (west London) to have the air con on here for a few nights over the past week or so, although the loft conversion gets particularly warm.

Where abouts are you?

Angus, a few miles inland from beautiful Lunan Bay. If we're lucky to hit low 20's in the summer, and on the rare occasion we do get a lovely sunny day and it heats up then the haar rolls in from the sea and covers any sunshine. We often get an east wind too. I would say on average we are probably 10 degrees cooler than London We had our wood burning stove on last night

I guess it's a compromise not having such warm weather over the beautiful area you live in. As they say you can't have everything

Looks good, and annoying regards the thrid one not workng.

What did the electrician charge to do it. I used to charge a minimum charge of £60 which included the first hour's work, plus £35 any subsequent hours or part of (plus the cost of any parts used)?

165 but that included moving two of the lights to the centre of the room. They were here a good few hours, I'd say around 4 as they had trouble with the 3rd fan. They also swapped over the light in our dining room for us.
