My Dad had a staffie and he would protect our son. If someone picked him up and play fought ds, the dog would growl and raise his hackles. That dog was such a loyal boy, my next door neighbours dog attacked my tiny little whippet, tried pulling her under the garden gate, savaging her, but that staffie tried his hardest to get that dog off her, he got injured himself in the process. My whippet was so very badly injured, the vet thought she wouldn’t survive, but thank goodness she did. The two dogs used to go to kennels together and when we were on holiday, my poor girl passed away from a heart condition and they had to put my dads staffie in with another little lady dog for company as he was pining away. Dogs are so amazing.

I thinks dogs will I knew a young woman I worked with 20 years ago was walking though a park with her Rottie when a man with a knife came from behind her held the knife to her throat. She said the next thing her dog had the guy on the floor and she ran a passing car stopped but her dog had not followed her when the police arrived the man was arrested and her dog had bitten the guy and was not letting him go only when she told him to come to her with, could police then arrest him and he was demanding the dog to be put down he was bitten twice. Turned out this guy was wanted for 3 rapes in the area. She was really worried that the police were going to make her put her dog down but he had never bitten anyone before and she had to take him to the vets for a report. She kept him and he never showed any aggression every again.
