Advice for a friend - Photopass at DLP
One of my colleagues is going to DLP in a couple of months with their 3 year old daughter. She asked me whether Photopass is worth it - I presume it is the same as in the Florida parks?

Much, much less than WDW. Only a few rides and some character meets (not all). They did trial a castle photographer for a while but I don’t know if there still is one.
Unless you would buy several ride photos or meet lots of characters, not necessarily worth the cost IMO.

I agree with the above. There aren’t many/any random photographers out to take pictures in the parks. Sometimes there is one in front of the castle but this isn’t guaranteed and it’s only a few hours at a time. I personally only think it’s worth getting one if you have an annual pass or you want ride photos. Cast members take pictures with your camera/phone at meet and greets. No magic shots anywhere.

For me, it depends on how long they are there for. Last year on a 5n/6d trip we got about 25 photos on our pass and at least 8 of those we would have bought so I felt like it was definitely worth the price.
However, my friends went for 2n/3d and only got 5 photos as their LO was too small to go on a lot of the rides that have photos. |

There is a PhotoPass point in front of the caste again. The sign went up the other day.
We did 4 nights with maybe 3 of that full days and got over 80 photos. |

I wish I’d got one last Christmas, but only in hindsight knowing that it lasts a year and we ended up returning within a year. It wouldn’t be worth it to me for one trip only.
I have a DSLR so we get decent photos from M&Gs anyway, and we always just take a pic of the ride photos at the exit on our phones - they’re not anything I’d put on display, so the low quality isn’t a problem. We generally buy one print from each M&G, but we only do 2 or 3 M&Gs per holiday, so not worth getting the photopass.

Does it last a year?
We got it last Halloween & we’ve been at Christmas and I never used it? I really didn’t know! We’re going in a few weeks so I’ll definitely use it then!

I think the photos stay on the app a year, but I think the regular photo pass is valid for 10 days. I do believe there is an annual one. But I've only seen that mentioned in relation to the infinity pass. X

You have to have an annual pass to get the annual photopass.

Oh, I have got mixed up after looking at annual passes! I was thinking that if you bought it in advance, it was valid to use for a year, and if you bought it there, it was just 10 days, for some reason!
I no longer regret not getting a photopass at Christmas! Definitely not worth it for us
