All Star Resorts - which is best?
I am looking to stay in one of the All Star Resorts for a week, and will pay to upgrade to DDP ( providing it's still offered for when we go!)
As I don't plan on being in the room/hotel much, I've chosen the All Stars because they are the cheapest. I'm wondering though - is there one that is 'better' in any way that the others? We are 2 adults and 2 kids (boys). Thanks! |

We looked round them all and found All star sports was the best and had the better food court. second would be music - we found the areas in Movies a but weird.

Sports is closest to the entrance
Music is in the middle so best for walking to the other two. We stayed at music in december last year. Rooms are a bit dated and it was a bit noisy but otherwise it was ideal. |

We stayed in the All Sports. We were allocated the Hoops accommodation, nice area and very peaceful. We were just past the pool and the main buildings.

We stayed in the music resort in Sept it was good for the money we paid, was clean and the pool areas were great.
We didn't have any dining plan so didn't have any food so can't comment on that. Did have the resort mug however which is defo worth it. Filled it every morning before we went out for the day and the food courts was very busy then,!

We prefer music mainly due to the layout - we have been in the country fair block (so furthest) and found it easy to navigate to pool, bus stops and main hall plus sports food court was very easy to get to. When we stayed in Sports we just found the walk from centre court seemed further away from everything (even though I don’t think it is), still it wouldn’t Pur me off from staying there again

We stayed at sports, but looked around the others too and I think for theming I preferred movies but we were more than happy with our stay at sports, like you we only planned on being in our room to wash and sleep and it did us fine. Easy to get around and plenty of buses to the parks. Very rarely they shared a bus with the other all star resorts we only noticed this at really quiet times when majority would probably be on one of the parks, on the time it did sports was first pick up and drop off.

I've only stayed in Movies - but if I had to choose again I'd probably go for Sports. Mainly because if there are shared buses (which I encountered more than once during my one night stay at ASMovies in February), they pickup from Sports first (so more likely to get a seat) and then drop off at Sports first (so no need to wait forever for the bus to go through the resorts).
But - the current confounder is that the AS resorts are being refurbished to the nicer newer rooms like they have done at Pop. So I'd go for whichever resort has been refurbished! (In February I went from a few nights stay in a refurbished room at Pop to a night's stay in an unrefurbished room at ASMovies, and the difference was very stark...)

we stayed in Music this year and two years ago, we were in rock area which was close to smaller pool, it was ideal as pool quieter, did have a walk round Movies and Sports, also went to them for food for a change, found buses to be good and never experienced bus stopping at Movies or Sports, took us direct to Music at all times, think it only applied to Movies and Sports sharing buses, sometimes if a Movies or Sports bus came first, especially at Disney Springs, we would jump on these as walk to our room at Music as didn’t take long, if I had to choose between Movies and Sports, I think I would go for Movies but would definitely go back to Music
