Indirect via Miami

Orlando International Economy to Miami
Dep: 17:40 Arr: 18:54
Miami Economy to London Heathrow (Terminal 3)
Dep: 21:25 Arr: 10:55 (04 Nov)

These are our return flights. With 2.5 hours to execute the transfer (no bags, they will go straight through) is this a comfortable amount of time? Can I plan to get some food at Miami?

Has anyone done this route with BA?

Thanks

should be plenty of time, normally in the summer ba use 747 on this route, some are very old with poor ife , others have had a cabin refresh with better ife but its the luck of the draw really, just looked at your dates you may be lucky as in the winter months ba use a a380 on the mia-lhr route, have a look on ba,s website it should tell you.

During the Winter schedule 19/20 BA are only using 747's for their 3 daily flights so no A380 this winter

I have done this connection a few times and only had one time when it was a bit of a rush due to a very late departure from MCO caused by thunderstorms in both airports.

Doing Man-lhr-Mia this year, booked the a380 flight as did it last year. They changed the aircraft a few months ago on us to 747😢😢

We flew Man-LHR-MIA in August and had a 747, better one on the way out than return but both decent enough apart from the vile food on the return In Miami there are quite a few places to eat but mainly before security, we departed from concourse E and the gates are all in separate concourses and each one has its own security. Once through we only had a choice of a small pizza hut stand, Samuel Adams and 2 small market types places selling sandwiches, cakes etc. If you want a proper meal there is a Margaritaville and a Chilis, plus a burger king and smaller food stalls.

We recently flew TPA-MIA-LHR

It was fine overall, and cheap which enabled us to go on holiday.
A few things to think about though:
We circled for an extra 40 mins coming into MIA because of a storm, I think with your layover time you’d still be fine though, it’s very easy to find where you need to go when you get to MIA but a looong walk.
If you want a meal, TGI Fridays was very slow. We had 4.5 hours to kill so didn’t mind, plenty of other choices available though.
We had the oldest, shabbiest plane I think I’ve ever been on. Not complaint worthy but a bit of a shocker compared to the lovely refurbished plane we had going out.
Also bear in mind we left Orlando at 12 midday, and this is where we were at midnight:

In case you can’t see on the ancient IFE screen we were flying over Orlando, right back where we started! 😁 This made me chuckle, and also consider that we might choose a different indirect route next time.
