Smart Thermostat?

We are looking at getting a Smart Thermostat and are thinking about the Google Nest but would consider others. Anyone have any recommendations?

Our Nest has been great... No extra cost, just sits in the background and we adjust via the app or our Echo.

We’ve been pleased with our Nest (although that’s not to say others aren’t good too).

Hi Crispy, after much research we opted for Tado. It's easy to self fit, we needed the starter kit V3, consisting of the extension kit that replaced the electrics box by our combi, the internet bridge, which plugs into your router and pairs with the extension kit and thermostat, which initially put me off as its battery operated, but as I always use my iphone/tablet/puter to control the system we forgot about the thermostat until I saw a low battery warning - batteries lasted 3 years.

We've got a tado, can't compare to any other but we're really pleased with it and is it easily adjustable from your phone.

We’ve also got tado and have been happy with it. Can’t compare it to any others though. I find it’s really easy to use with the app on my phone.

We've had the Hive for a few years now and haven't had any problems. Nice and simple to use and we've got a few of the add on's too, all linked to Alexa.

Reluctantly I am having a 34yr old boiler replaced this month (still working fine but I want the tanks gone)

I thought about the smart thermostat for a long time and cannot see any reason why I would want one. Totally different if we were still working though as then it would be a great bit of kit to have.

Have a Nest I love it my wife hates it. It’s because she doesn’t understand how heating works so for example, blames it for not adjusting when it’s colder outside. My wife believes turning the heating up higher when it’s cold in the house will speed up getting it to desired temperature at which point she can turn it down then, to give you an idea... 🤔

My nan is in her 80's and whilst she's not good on her feet, she's very good at using her iPad. She's had quite a lot of the smart home tech and finds it invaluable. She's got a few Alexa units, Ring doorbell, Hive thermostat and smart lightbulbs. It makes her life much easier as she can control her house from her chair.
