Great day - we'd love to visit Washington DC one day. Our friends went last August and they said the heat was really oppressive!

We really didn't expect it to be quite so hot. It was lovely the following day, just the build up to the storm that was the horrible oppressive heat. Plus we were tired after all the walking , totally in love with DC . An amazing place.

Loved reading about DC, we absolutely loved DC its a place we definitely need to go back to. The capital building is just stunning and if you had of had time to go inside you would of found it even more breath taking. The dome is so pretty. We had a guided tour and it was so informative. You could also go underneath to the Library of congress which again was lovely. We stayed here for 3 days and fitted so much into those 3 days. I loved the fact that most museums were free. The Lincoln theatre and the small museum over the way was really good, we also had time to do the spy museum which I'm sure your boys would of loved, we chose to do the mission which was such good fun. We also ate at the food trucks which had a wide variety of lovely foods.

There is much in DC we missed, we will definitely go back , just the two of us we would like to take our time to explore and look around all those places the teens didn't fancy ! Stunning place. Really stole our hearts .. Quite unexpected !
