Definitely recommend PE's 21" of width if you have health issues Andy, we do, the extra room is worth every penny for a far easier journey without being shoehorned into 17.5" of seat width, 21" of seat width may not sound a lot more, but you'll be pleasantly surprised once your bum is parked in that bigger, comfy seat - BA's WT+ offers 18.5", personally I don't class an extra inch as premium.

First time in PE we upgraded at the airport, made the fare nigh on the same as booked from the outset. We booked prior to the changes in VA's miles and money program and paid around £714pp for two years in PE. Last winter we bagged UC for £850 and the trip we've just finished was via UC reward seats at £424pp in taxes and fees. Be aware carrier imposed fees have since increased.

I've been looking at reward seats for this winter. Since VA reduced required miles for off peak flights finding reward seats is nigh on impossible be they Man to MCO or Man to Atlanta with the option of booking Atl to Fort Myers separately. Consequently we're looking at beginning our flights in Dublin again for this winter.

We have found that we are less tired on arrival if we fly PE outward, but have not really benefited from PE on return. How much sleep you get on the way back seems to be down to the other passengers as much as what class of seat. We had a baby which cried and screamed for most of the flight on one occasion. We had ELR seats on return last year and will definitely book them again with PE outward.

Hi Chrissie, we too found we were much fresher after flying in PE. We came off our UC flight last Friday and, surprisingly, haven't had any jetlag, we didn't do the lie flat but did have a bit doze in comfy seats. Also had no jetlag from last winter's UC, in our instance cabin choice certainly makes a difference to after affects on the return.
