Email from Disney - changing our ADR!

We have a reservation at Rainforest cafe at AK on the 24/5 at 6pm. I already knew had seen that AK's opening hours had changed but we were still happy to go for dinner. Disney emailed me last night saying...

We're looking forward to your upcoming visit and trip to Disney's Animal
Kingdom Theme Park on May 24, 2017.

In preparation for the opening of Pandora ? The World of Avatar we are
hosting our Walt Disney World Summer Press Event at this Theme Park and
will be closing earlier than previously planned. As a result, we will
need to adjust your dining reservation for this evening. While I
sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, we would like to help you
book alternate arrangements and provide some additional magic for your
family. Our team can be reached Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. EST and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST
at 407-828-2727. Please contact us at your earliest convenience.

All the ADR's are going to be booked now, what do you think they are going to do for us as they say they want to amend and give us additional magic?

Could you go to the one at DS instead? If you get a Landry's card you'll be seated quickly anyway so no need for a reservation.
I would imagine you'll be given extra Fastpasses but this hasn't happened to us so I can't say for sure

I would guess additional FP is your "additional magic". It's weird that you can't eat at RFC as it's outside the park.
I would see what Disney are offering you.

They are offering compensation too so ring and talk to them! I had the same call for Yak and Yeti yesterday on the same day. The park is closing at 3:30pm I was told so all I can assume is there's some sort of press event. They are also going to sort out rebooking so I wouldn't worry about ADR's not being available as from the sounds of it they will make them! They will also sort out fast passes as well if needed. I need to ring back at some point as had to confirm the date but give them a ring.

It will probably be additional fastpasses .
I am assuming that they'll probably use the restaurant as a kind of hospitality suite for the press etc.. for the opening .
If you're really set on RFC then I'd go to the DS one

The Rainforest cafe may possibly be being used for catering for the press so they need the premises.

The sooner you contact Disney the sooner they can organise an alternative for you and at least they are offering something as a compensation (probably Fastpasses as others have said).

I will call at 12 when they open (tried to call and says they are shut - time difference i imagine?!)

Reminds me of the time we had an ADR for House of Blues for our anniversary. Turned up to find the whole place had been taken over by ADT for some corporate event. When I asked where were we supposed to eat the response was that we should go and try other places. I asked for the manager who claimed that they had called us four days on our UK number. Lot of use that was, as four days ago we were already in Florida. I pushed my point until she arranged to get us in at Wolfgang Puck Dining Room. When we arrived the manager, Michael, said to us: "She owes me big time!" We got complimentary drinks.

As to the phone call when we got back home, there was indeed a message on our phone but it had been made on the actual date of the ADR. Boy, did I complain to Disney. They could only apologise as, of course, HoB is not a Disney run restaurant. They did say they would be having a word with the management but whether they did or not I'll never know.
