I got a Monzo card as I like the idea of topping up as and when needed rather than bulk loading upfront. Oh and the no fees and charges was a good incentive.

I use a Travelex Supercard when purchasing large priced items if foreign currency. It links to my standard UK Credit card so no need to pre-load.

I also have a Revolut card which I use for day to day purchases whilst away.

There's another new card / account that's similar to Revolut and Monzo. It's from Starling Bank.

One thing that is interesting with this account, is they're hoping to have Applepay and Android Pay integration soon.
