Insurance for dd between uni courses
DH contacted Barclays yesterday and our DD is not covered on our bank policy as she is finishing her Foundation course in June and not enrolled in her full time course until September.
Any suggestions for a policy for a student. And will it matter if she is on a different policy from the rest of us. |

Did you get her a separate policy? Or buy a new group policy.

It's always best to get one policy if you can. If Barclays can't help (given that she's still in full time education but between courses during the Summer) then perhaps consider buying a family policy for all of you that covers "adult dependant children" in full time education, eg. Columbus

My 16year old son finishes school in a 3-4 weeks, but will be going to college in September. Just checked my Nationwide Flex Plus Insurance policy and he would be still covered as he lives at the same address (home).
Immediate family member: you, your partner / spouse and dependent children who live at the same address as the account holder(s). To be covered any dependent children must not have reached the age of 19 (or 22 if in full time education) and be neither married nor in a civil partnership. Edited at 07:33 AM. |

The problem is she's not considered in full time education as she won't have enrolled at uni yet. The guy at Barclays said it's a ridiculous loophole but it's the case.
A policy for a group of 3 adults plus 1 child is coming out very expensive. |

Type of insurance and cover
nationwide/support/...-with-flexplus We claimed on the Mobile Insurance last time, as son left his mobile at the Cheesecake Factory after a meal and it wasn't handed in. Had to file a police report online. Edited at 08:09 AM. |

We were advised not to have different policies if we were travelling together. As my daughter was 20 but not in full time education I called Nationwide and they added her for a fee.
My son , who was travelling with us but coming home at a different time used protect my bubble and that was very reasonable.
