BA World Traveller plus into Miami

Hey All,

Has anyone flown this route WTP? What was your experiences and did you get to sit on the upper deck?
We've booked this for November so would be interested to hear other peoples experiences.

Thanks

Gemma

If it's an A380 I believe that the WTP seats are all upstairs. If it's a 747 then you'll be sat downstairs.

Spot on, can't comment on what the seats or service are like in WTP on the A380 but the plane itself is an interesting experience.

In November, BA207 is scheduled to be operated by a 747, and BA209 by an A380.

There are two versions of the 747 operated by BA. The version with WTP from rows 33-36 has had an interior refresh, seats re-covered and new IFE. The version with WTP from rows 11-16 is not refreshed and has the older seat covers and IFE.

The vast majority of 747 flights LHR-MIA in the last couple of months have unfortunately used the older version. There is one small advantage to those - because WTP is between First and Club World, you'd be one of the first off the aircraft, handy if MIA immigration is having a bad hair day. However, that could be different come November (and you may be on the A380 anyway).

During the summer months most flights are operated by a 747.

Yes, that is BA209 and currently scheduled to be operated by an A380 in November. If you look at the seat map in Manage My Booking on ba.com, the WTP cabin should be rows 60-68 if it is an A380. Of course aircraft type is always subject to change, but MMB will show you what is currently assigned.

You don't get priority check-in on BA in WTP (unless you have BA Silver status or equivalent/higher), you will get a larger baggage allowance.

Have you check manage my booking, it will tell you what's scheduled for it now. I'm on this flight in September and it's a 747.
