We're breakfast in villa/hotel every day. We're not big fans of the American breakfasts and like to get going so cereal or sandwiches made up the night before and ate in the car are our preferred morning eats. At the Rosen Inn, running down to the Starbucks for coffee & pastries was also an option.
It's what you like, want to spend. As I say, we're not fans so that is money that can be better spent elsewhere. Like souvenir glasses. |

For us it's breakfast in the villa every day, bar the last morning. Packed lunches when we go to the parks that allow it, as well as a couple of BBQ's on the rest days. Dinner is out every night, and now with the advent of Uber, possibly some liquid refreshment with dinner.

When we stayed in the villa and even in the hotel we would have cereal in the room (when in the villa and access to full kitchen we would also have toast, pancakes, bagels, omelette and ham and cheese toasties).
If going out to a park we would take a packed lunch, buy a sub from Walmart $6 and cut it into 4 and it would feed all of us plus some crisps, chocolate and snacks for the day in a cool bag, freeze bottles of water and they act as ice packs to keep all food cold. Also take some squashed juice to use for free iced water in the parks to flavour the water. 99p in Aldi. If staying in the villa all day we would either have lunch out (take time out of the midday sun) and something light for tea such as a sandwich or toastie, or do it the opposite way round. Either way we would only eat out 1 time a day, not necessarily to save money, (which we obviously did compared to eating out 3 meals a day) but because we didn't want to eat stodgy fried food all day long. We would either have lunch or dinner out each day. Definitely take the squashed juice and make use of the free iced water as you will drink a lot and a bottle of water or Coke will cost you upwards of $3 in the parks. Also as you say your kids are older try and make use of the dine4less card as that gives you a % off your total bill regardless of children's age.

I'm Ready To Go NOW!

We have first morning breakfast out but then eat breakfast in the rest of the time, mainly because my hubby isn't a big breakfast eater..
We usually eat out the rest of the time but we might have the odd pizza or Chinese takeaway in.

Last year we had breakfast out nearly everyday but it wasted so much time and tbh I thought for what it was it was really expensive for 4 of us. This year is a different kind of holiday anyway in that the 2nd week is a cruise and we will be eating all our meals out then. The Orlando week will be breakfasts in and BBQ's except for Hooters (son wanted to go last time and we didn't get there) and maybe 4 rivers smokehouse because so many have recommended it. Looking forward to chilled times eating around the pool rather than racing around.

We have breakfast in the villa every day apart from our Discovery Cove day. We are not huge breakfast fans, we love a bowl of cereals with ice cold milk and plenty of fresh fruit juice. But then again we are not rope drop people and tend to get to the parks late and stay late.
The only day we eat supper in the villa is the first one and then it tends to be light. We do keep snacks and drinks in for late night munchies.

Same as most. We have breakfast in the villa every day. We have every other meal out. We either have a small lunch and big dinner or vice versa. We have snacks in the villa but that's it, no meals.

We eat breakfast at the villa roughly 2/3rds of the time but on the other days we go to Cracker Barrel. I normally get bread and bagels from Publix and croissants from Walmart, and then some bacon, eggs and fruit.
We eat out of a night 95% of the time unless we are on our way back from somewhere and get curb side to go from Carrabbas.
