Speedway will simply get an overhaul - including electric cars

I'm quite happy about that too! DS has always loved it but the smell just gives me such a headache.
I don't suppose it's very environmentally friendly

Always been a hit with the kids but I think an update would make it an even bigger hit...
I can't remember the smell but I can remember a really loud annoying speaker outside near the queue and you could hear it from aaaages away

This is not confirmed so take it with a pinch of salt at the moment. The site reporting this as confirmed has a history of getting things wrong and not having info to back it up.

Something like this I would expect to be announced at D23 this summer..

Really? I've always found them to be a great source of info. I fully expect them to announce this in Saturday

Just read on a disney blog that the speedway at MK is to be replaced with a tron lightcycle power run rollercoaster (currently in shanghai). Speedway will close around 2018 and it will open around 2020.

Sounds exciting though my DS loves speedway.

the speedway is dated and lets be honest a pretty poor 'ride' and the petrol cars cant be good for the air quality in that area
