Seat refund if you upgrade on Virgin?
Possibly looking to upgrade to Premium on Virgin and have already paid for our seats in economy. Will they refund our seats? The upgrade cost would be about £155 one way, or £110 if they refund. Not sure if it's worth it if they don't.

Yes, they refunded us when we upgraded to PE. It was a separate refund, rather than taking what we'd already paid off the upgrade price

They refunded me in 2016, I assume this hasn't changed.
Also worth upgrading at that price when taking into account the price of the extra case that comes free with PE.

Anyone who upgraded online - were you refunded automatically, or did you have to contact them to ask for the refund?

Thanks, that makes the decision a bit harder. We can't take any extra luggage than we already do, so trying to decide if the other perks are worth it.

Sorry to jump onto this thread ... I’ve just upgraded so I wondered if you get the seat refund automatically if it’s done online or do you have to ask virgin for it?

You have to call their customer service line. It’s not automatic, unfortunately.
