Totally different holiday this year and a few questions please re Delta, Tampa and indirect

Booked a last minute ( for us as usually book a year in advance at least) as we've managed to afford a more budget trip.
This means we Re not travelling from our local airport saving us £1000,
Flying indirect with one stop, saving yet another £1000 and flying into Tampa and saving more money.
Questions
What is Delta like compared to Virgin? Thinking seating comfort, meals, entertainment etc

Any worries flying indirect? We have a 1hr 40 min wait on way out and way back is 2 hrs. It all booked through Virgin.

Tampa- is this easier to navigate than MCO any issues. Will be collecting car here and driving to Kissimmee.

Thanks

Having read a post on here yesterday have you definitely got bags included in your Delta fare as it seems they now do a handluggage only fare?

I have never travelled Delta but DD uses them every year to fly to Boston and she rates them over Virgin for comfort and food.

What airport are you connecting in on the way out? We had Delta flights booked (through Virgin) and connecting JFK, flying into Tampa. The flight times kept changing, and the final straw was a connecting time of just over one hour, so I cancelled as there was no way we could connect in that time. If your stopover is in USA you have to clear customs, and collect your cases and put them on the carousel for the next fight. 1hr 40 could be tight. Coming back is okay and they transfer your luggage.

We booked Delta again but flying into mco this time. Then we have a long drive to Naples. I've only read good things about Tampa airport though.

Where is the connection flight? You may see threads discussing connection times and what to do?
I'm going indirect to Tampa this year, I have only departed there before. Think the journey from Kissimmee was just over the 1hr.

Sorry Mini is faster at typing!
I'm flying AF VIA Atl ant times have changed 4 or 5 times since booking but has been fine to change flights if time was to short for connections.

I have flown both rather regularly.
If prices were identical and unless a Dreamliner were involved, I would take Delta every time. Great ‘no fuss’ service, decent meals and good comfort.
And the bonus is that Delta service far more destinations whilst almost inevitably being cheaper.

Delta is pretty good. On par with United, AA, Virgin etc. Above the standard of BA.

Your outward connection time is pretty tight. I would ensure you know your way through the airport, and further understand your options should you miss your connection, such as later flights the same day, or hotel options.
