Mobile phone abroad

I know we have had several posts regarding mobile phones but I have a bit of different one

My sister is going atop have a us sim card, but she also has an o2 and a sky contract phones (long story why she uses so many phones) she is wondering if she were to put her phone into a phone that doesn't support data would she be charged to receive call and texts from the uk
for several reasons she needs to be in contact ideally through her own numbers and was wondering on the costs involve.

she could leave the sim card in a smartphone and disable data ... that would acheive the same as putting the sim in a phone without data capabilities ...

data and call/text are unrelated to the phone's data capabilities, it all depends on your phone plan
Just have her look at the rates on her phone plan, and see the cost for calls and text.

Could do with re writing your post, it’s a little confusing. However I would get her to phone her supplier whether that is sky or O2. I’m with O2 and
If I understand it correctly i’m now able to use my phone in the US with the contract covering me for calls and texts, i’m unlimited for both.

She should just turn Data roaming off, you can still receive calls & texts, obviously at International rates.
