If you're onsite, then it doesn't take long to get back to the hotels - especially from Epcot and Hollywood Studios if you're staying at the beach club as they're both walkable or you can catch the boat which is lovely.
A WDW holiday is far more tiring that you'll realise. The parks are BIG and there's a LOT of walking to do. In the heat, it's even more tiring. A 12pm TS lunch will be lovely, but there's no way that any of my lot could constantly do morning to night in the parks with just a TS lunch break and our children are 14 and 16. If your plan is to go to the parks every morning, then have lunch at 12pm, then I'd probably be heading back to my resort around 2pm, relaxing around the pool (kids LOVE pool time and the BC one is the best resort pool Disney have), and then heading out again around dinner time for a few hours in the evening. Alternatively, there may be days where you just don't want to get up and go out first thing, so relax in the morning, head to the park for your TS lunch and then spend the afternoon there, heading back to the resort when you're all ready. Then spend the evening at the resort/pool/watching movies under the stars etc. The biggest piece of advice is to be flexible though and play it by ear. I know it's the first time you're going so you want to make the most of it, but you'll enjoy it much more if you're not all tired and aching from all the walking. I personally also find that by breaking the day up, it feels like a longer, but more relaxed day. It feels like we've done more than it does if we've just spent the day at a park so I feel like I've got more out of the holiday. Also, you're paying quite a premium to stay at the Beach Club, so make the most of it, otherwise you might as well just stay at a value resort and save the money.

Thanks for all their advice, it’s really helping me to shape my plans.
The approach I am taking is to over plan everything but also be more than prepared to just throw it all out of the window if required. Thanks again |

That's the perfect attitude to have - have a plan but don't be precious about it. Flexibility is the key

Classic case of Dibbitious!
The dibb is a wonderful place but makes ua think we have to plan everything! See how you go, it will be an hour to get from Park it resort and same back so that’s 2 hours. As others have said we don’t do breaks, but rather early mornings or lazy morning by the pool and into parks for evenings, my fave time in the parks. We have taken kids from 0.5- 11 and my top top is water park day every third day for rest and hire a “push chair “ for older kids to extend park hours into evening 1 am magic kingdom is my absolute favourite time! |

We've been around the same time as you're going and never took midday breaks, we would hit the parks early and go through until early evening then leave, have dinner and an early night. Our "lazy" days were water parks and we never got tired

We have never take mid-day breaks. We either go early and finish mid-afternoon or go late afternoon and stay for the evening

We are a childless couple (27&31) and we need midday breaks! We stayed in the beach club in September and usually took a 4-5 hr break (noon onwards). However, I will say that we loved getting back from MK by catching the monorail to epcot, then walking through epcot to the back entrance and then to beach club. It is definitely longer but we found it relaxing and during the food & wine festival we could grab some snacks too.

We do either very early mornings (rope drop) and go back to hotel lunchtime for pool etc, then dinner out, or otherway around for fire works going to parks 3-4ish for dinner and fireworks! Works well for us !

Exactly as Pumpkinkitten and others say. Some days we leave the park around 2pm and go back to resort or pool until around 4.30-6pm then head back out. Other days we may leave the park for a resort ts meal at lunch as our rest time. Other days we go through from morning to evening time, then have an early night. We mix it up a bit, rest when we feel like it and make plans but change them 😀. Staying onsite means the transport is easy to use and it is quite simple to return to your resort when you feel like a rest.
