We have just had to take our beloved pet to the vet. (Thursday 19th), she lost power in her back legs, and was really agitated when needing the loo. It was heart breaking to watch. Thursday was a long day, agony for everyone. Ds1 and dh took her over, I knew it was a step to far for me. It has been a lonely few days, and so so empty. But we all know she is at peace and will be forever loved and hugely missed. Hugs are with you, and know that you are giving peace back to your pet xx

As heartbreaking as it is I think we are doing the right thing. He poo twice in the night and he is a very well trained dog so is now sulking in his basket. The kitchen absolutely stinks and I don’t like that my kids are having to eat breakfast in there. I don’t ever feel like the floor is clean enough and he also snatched food yesterday. He tried to take jelly off the spoon that was going from the bowl into my youngests mouth while she was sat at the table so it wasn’t like she was even giving him any indication that she was going to feed him and he never does that.
I just feel when the vet comes I am going to not be able to go through with it. He still falls multiple times a day but that’s the normal for him now. He’s just been in our lives so long I can’t imagine him not being here |

I didn't think when the time came I'd be able to go through with putting my dog down, but this strength just seems to come from somewhere. Just know that you will look back and know you did the right thing.
Your poor old man, he's had such a great life. But it definitely sounds like he deserves to be at peace now |

Beautiful boy - so sorry, but sounds like you’ve done the best for him as heartbreaking as it is for you all ❤️

Hugs to you all. We are a week in and i have started to research availability of shelties. The house is so empty. There will be lots of tears, but just hang on in there. It genuinely is like losing a human member of your family, not just a pet xxx
