Mobile 70th Birthday

Just wondering on any ideas of cool presents for a 70th lockdown birthday.

My dad turns 70 in a fortnight and I've no idea what to get him. For Father's Day last year all he wanted was a hug 😢 which he obviously didn't get.

He is diabetic so chocolate and treats are a no no (although he still eats them I never buy them him). He doesn't read much but dabbles on my Mum's iPad, he has an iPhone and uses a computer. He is very much into charity work. We bought him and my mum one of those night away gift experiences last year and he's never used it so obviously something like that is a no go too.

I am at a loss and any suggestions are appreciated.

How about a charity gift? We've used Oxfam and Cafod before, usually only the smaller gifts but they're always a talking point. I always bought the 'gift of learning' type gifts for school teachers at the end of term too.

We also love getting personalised engraved glasses; wine, beer, whiskey etc. They're good value but nice and personal. A really decent bottle of gin, port, wine to go with the glass too.

How about a season ticket to some local gardens that he can look forward to once we get back to some sort of normality?

Etsy do some nice gifts with coins from your year of birth too.

Does he watch much TV? Got for my dad a Netflix subscription - he’s stuck in watching more and was running out of new and interesting things to watch. What about his own iPad or cheaper equivalent?
