Cherub series and the Alex Rider series. My DS loved them and has re-read them all in lockdown.

Love all these suggestions but DS at 13 had read them all. I've come on to post Game of Thrones but this PP beat me to it.

All the others are great, Philip Pullman, James Patterson, etc but at 15 they want to step up. If he's an avid reader and not yet read Games of Thrones he will love you forever.

I'm desparate for my DS but at 14 he's stopped reading.

Cant imagine many 15 year old boys reading books. Mine at that age were more interested at looking at certain magazines.

If he likes mythology - the Rick Riordan books? The main series is based on Greek mythology but there are also series based on Norse and Egyptian mythology.

Edit: I am not a boy (!) but I remember 15 was around the age I started reading Terry Pratchett and I hugely enjoyed reading my way through the Discworld books so that might be another possibility? Also was reading some fantasy series at that point in my life (David Eddings, Raymond Feist).

At 11 there were loads of boys & girls in my school reading books.

But then again it was James Herbert books from the school library & all everyone wanted to read were the horror & sex chapters!
