Getting from JFK

Hi all, we have a New York booked for November(fingers crossed), we have flown into
Newark on previous visits and got the train into the city, this time it’s JFK, as there is 5 of us I’m wondering what the best way to get to the city is as I’ve read the regular cabs don’t fit 5, would Uber be the best way or does anyone have any other recommendations? Thanks

You could book a private transfer or just use the AirTran to Jamaica and switch to the Subway.

We’ve used Dial7 a few times and pretty sure they have 5 seaters.

If you hunt around there are normally codes about.

Never had an issue.

We used Carmel and the car was huge for four of us so not sure if they could take five?

We use jrluxurynyc for 5.

Bit expensive but a relaxing treat.

You can get the train from JFK as well. Pretty straight forward to do.

Taxi wise you don't get any can as you can get ripped off. You go to the rank where the controller will ask how may of you there are and sort an appropriately sized cab which is a fixed price into NY.

We used the AirTrain to Jamaica then the subway in to Manhattan. Really cheap and easy. Took about an hour and cost approximately $7 pp each way.

We used the Airtrain into Jamaica then the LIRR train. People from our hotel had a flight home same time as ours and used private transfer, they got collected 2 hours before we left the hotel (and we were still at the airport an hour before we needed to be), really easy, lots of staff on hand to point you in the right direction and very quick
