We went to Wild Floria - daughter did the meet sloth experience, we watched from outside the cage. Various sloths around to view, plus other animals. About an hour drive.

We also went to Amazing Animals and had a fabulous time. $40 a head for a private sanctuary tour - all 11 of us loved it especially when we got close up with the sloths and fed them. It certainly lives up to the name - Amazing!
We are hoping to go back this May

Want to get up close and personal with sloths, then check out Wild Florida. While you're there you can take an airboat ride and see some gators too, or experience their wildlife park that includes not only sloths, but, lemurs, porcupines, bison, panthers and even giraffe, amongst others. We just made a Facebook post about our visit there only a few days ago. Check it out here.

You can go in their cage to feed them and pet them. Will try to add a photo. It was fab , they let you go in small groups so the sloths don’t get stressed. It was amazing watching the kids faces - and the adults too! we all agreed it was the best thing we did!

We love Wild Florida and my dd (12) did the meet a sloth last year which was one of the highlights of her holiday. For the original poster though her son would be too young as minimum age is 8 although he could see them from the outside of the enclosure if they were out and about (sometimes sleeping so hard to see much). For anyone over 8 though it is a great experience with plenty of photo opportunities and facts about sloths.
