Mobile If I buy water post security, can I take it off the plane?

As it says, we're sat in Gatwick departures (yay!).

If I buy a bottle of water, can I take it off the plane to drink in MCO?

While I'm asking, can we take any food off the plane if the kids get hungry in immigration? Sweets or crisps?

Yes, broad rule is that you can't take liquids into the airport in case they are a bomb, and you can't take fresh food into the US in case it contains bugs etc.

We’ve taken water off the plane, need it as usually driving some distance when we eventually get the hire car. We drink it whilst in the immigration line. Seen plenty others do too. Never had a problem. Our first trip we didn’t have a clue and I’d taken a banana off the flight. There was a guy with a big bin bag asking everyone to place any fruit/vegetables etc in a they weren’t allowed.

I'm sure they used to ask you to get rid of any fruit, meat etc on the plane. At Xmas we flew BA, they didn't mention anything. We totally forgot about the banana in my husband's rucksack, till the sniffer dog sat down by it. Won't be making that mistake again.
