Why dont Disney offer bunk beds as standard?

Really frustrated.

I get there is a premium on accommodation that has as a separate sleeping room, but surely in standard rooms they can offer bunk beds (I know some AKL rooms have them).

Was just about to book 9 nights in CBR (pirate themed) for 2a and 2c (7&11) when I stumbled across the fact it was 2 standard double beds, not queens size beds.

With kids this age, they would never share a bed (they are both extreme wriggles), so we have to split them up. One adult and one kid. Not ideal, but its only sleeping. That would be ok with a queen bed, but not in a standard double. Would be awful.

Looking at other options, and there doesnt seem to be much. Surely it would be easy for disney to stick bunk beds in rooms like this. Families with 2 kids would find it great as the current option of 2 beds is just really inconvenient.

I'm struggling to find the logic in Disney not catering for families with 2 kids who are getting that bit bigger.

AKL don't have them any more, they've been (or currently being) removed from all rooms.

I agree, it would make sense. As a family of 5, our options are limited (or expensive) but that's pretty much always been the same no matter where we look to holiday.

We're hoping to move our POR booking to OKW next year, but if we can't, we'll make do with a "5th sleeper" room in POR, which has the pull down bed. I know it's small, but it'll have to do!

Have they? Thats utterly rubbish. I was just about to look at that as an option.

At the very least it would be good if they supplied smaller pop up beds to allow smaller kids to use. Even the travelodge does that

I've often thought this too. The last time we went to wdw we stayed in the B Resort which is a Disney Springs partner hotel and they had bunk rooms and it was great. The kids got a bed each so no fighting plus it gave us more floor space which was also a bonus.

If it is a partner hotel, do you get the benefits that come with an actual disney hotel? Like DDP, Fast pass at 60 days etc? I'm assuming the answer is no...but no harm asking

I believe you get 60 day FP and EMH, but no DDP or actual Disney transport.

2 double beds is the standard hotel configuration across the USA. You will find this setup in most hotels.

My children were expected to share and just had to get on with it. They usually were tired and slept well. So while I can’t say it was never an issue it certainly wasn’t a major one.

Port Orleans has a drop down bed. I think this might be your best option.
