Zebra Sports Bar, Rosen Inn

We wanted a snack before going to bed but couldn't face the noise/busy-ness of Millers.

Instead we had a Phoenix Nights / Benidorm experience here in terms of service and entertainment .

But the food was good. I can't recall the exact prices ,too tired, but I'm sure they were $8 or $9 each

I had a tasty chicken quesadilla, Andy had wings with ranch sauce.

Perkins, I Drive

As has become a bit of a tradition, first morning breakfast at Perkins.

Is it wrong that I had been dreaming of their lemon blueberry pancake platters the week before we left ?

It did not disappoint

Andy had a Heartyman's combo

There it is, carb coma on a table

And all for a very reasonable $30 with tip

I can't rotate that receipt pic at the moment.

We rolled out feeling very sick but contented. "Home" again

I know there has been some discussion about sweet and savoury on one plate, doesn't bother me , as long as the ketchup and cream don't mix . Just gotta be forensic in keeping space on the plate.

Palm Pavilion , Clearwater Beach

It may look lovely and sunny but the wind was so cold, it was freezing. We sat as far indoors as we could under a heater.

I had a Bloom cocktail ... Citrus vodka, lavender lemonade and blueberry. The lemonade taste was yum !

Andy had a pint or two

The menu was mind bogglingly extensive

And that was only the front page.

We shared gator bites ... Like chicken but chewier

And plain nachos .. As in no meat

Some coconut shrimp sneaked in there too.

I had a burnt end taco. It wasn't burnt ends though, just pulled pork with big avocado wedges. It was ok, nothing special

Andy had a hot dog loaded with BBQ pork and onion strings

And we shared some cheese fries

We were in a group of 6 but I didn't get pics of all the other food ... I didn't know the people well enough. But there were wings somewhere

I didn't see the bill either so no pic of that today. Our mains were around $10 to $ 15 range.

Denny's, Largo

After only having lunch yesterday we were keen for a big breakfast. The first few days were really erratic in terms of eating which didn't make me a happy bunny

Anyhow, off we went to Denny's as it was closest.

We were treated to two hilarious servers who clearly didn't get along .. " oh, I see you put my customers at your table ..dear " and " that would be your table that needs clearing ..dear " . Pass the saucer of milk ladies

They clearly hadn't got the memo

Happily, the food was good.

Andy had a Philly cheesesteak omelette

I had a supreme skillet of potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, sausage and scrambled egg. The warning about fried and poached eggs being underdone kinda put me off anything but scrambled

And a side of french toast

Another delicious $30 breakfast

Sardos Pizza, Largo

Friday morning of that well known celebration on March 17 of St Pattys Day , yes that's what they called it.

Important to carb up before any evening beverages are consumed

Due to faffing about we failed to get breakfast or lunch.

Good job then that giant pizzas arrived before we set off for a surreal evening of emerald mayhem

$17.99 for extra large and $2.75 per extra topping. There was one plain and one that was half sausage, half mushroom.

Very nice too. Reminded us of Julianas.
