Magic Kingdom Newbie - how to pick best day?
I'm doing one day in MK this year for the first time ever. It's not booked yet but I'm hoping to get 8 days in Orlando in mid August. How do I pick the best/least crowded day? Obviously I'll avoid Sat, Sun and prob Fri also?
Beyond that, any guidelines? |

Try the DIBB busy day guide: https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/busy-day-guide.php
For mid-August, it's recommending Thursdays for MK. |

Remember that the busy day guide is an educated guess; there's no guarantee it'll be right.
Also remember that MK is the busiest park at Disney (in fact, on average, it is the busiest theme park in the world!). I find that it always feels "crowded" even on the best of days. Anyway, now I sound like the bearer of doom and gloom. Hope you have a great holiday!

Yeah, I reckoned as much nimbus, and at best they're all educated guesses.
I was wondering if MK might be less busier after the weekend of 19/20th August with a lot of the schools back, as opposed to going on the Thursday 17th. Thursday 24th not an option! |

Yes, it will probably be a bit less busy after 20th August.
The busy day guide doesn't actually show how busy the park will be and doesn't tell you whether one week will be busier/quieter than another week. A recommended day at the end of December will still be much busier than a non-recommended day in September, for example.

The best day to visit MK is when you have 3 early fastpasses (allowing others to be booked) and you arrive at rope drop (or whatever its called now).
Irrespective of the busy day guess system. Disney332

Not having kids (and always travelling out of summer holidays anyway) I always forget about the back to school dates. But yes, Undercover Tourist is definitely showing a sharp drop off after that second week. Chose them over Touring Plans as I'm not how much data non-members can see, btw.
Expected crowds week of the 13th average a 7, following it drops to 4-5. Again, all educated guesses. Although if you can do the 25th, that's the first MNSSHP if you're interested and tickets are still available. Edited at 02:10 PM. |

It does get significantly less busy once the local schools go back - to whit you used to be able to check when they were with a google search (but interestingly I've just been blocked as i'm searching from the UK)
I can't say enough go as early as you can - get your early fast passes and if you can split the visit over two mornings if you can last year we managed - all the rides in fantasy land including 7 dwarfs using FP on Dwarfs, Pooh and Pan and we were leaving the park at 11.30 n |

Thinking we'll go with Monday 21st or Tuesday 22nd and hope for the best. Previous Thursday I reckon would be busier coz I think that's kind of the last day of the hols in most of the neighbouring school districts, or at least the ones I've looked at.
