Weather there now what to pack

So having looked at the recent weather forecasts there seems to be a lot of cloud and rain on most days. Is there anyone there now who can help me with suggestions on the type of coat/jumpers needed. The forecast says light rain but as we usually go in summer and are used to the 4pm downpours, I am not sure what 'light' rain is for florida. Are we likely to really need raincoats or would an umbrella and dodging the rain in the shops or the tiki room work? Thanks.

Here now, I’ve over packed as we’ve got everything from shorts to jeans! Been here for 3 days and mainly have worn jeans (boys) and long leggings with T-shirt’s and then hoodies that we’ve been able to take off when it’s warmer. The most rain so far was last night, we were at Mk and it was drizzling all evening. Many wore ponchos but we toughed it out in our hoodies and were fine. Heavier rain is coming today and tomorrow, with lower temps then apparently it’s getting warmer.
Only been in summer before too, so know what you mean, but have yet to experience the intense thunderstorms that summer brings. I’d say it’s more like English Spring.

Mobile Urgent help - packing!

So we fly out tomorrow and although I have some clothes looked out, I’m not sure if I’m packing the right things. We have only been once this time of year and it was cold and the forecast looks warmer just now? Any suggestions on what to take - worried shorts will be too cold at night but don’t want to roast during the day - anyone there just now or just back?

Aaagghh!

We've been here 12 days so far and must admit in all the years we've been coming in December, this is the most disappointing weather wise, it's seemingly one of their wettest on record, usually it's a very dry month.Normally when we've had a cold snap there would still be beautiful blue skies, but this time we've had lots of cloud, thankfully it's looking lovely for Christmas Day and boxing day, fingers crossed that the second part of our 4 weeks is better,my old bones need some sun.
Have a great time when you get here.

We are currently on the gulf coast between St Pete and Clearwater. Weather today is dry at the moment though rain is forecast on and off all day. I am wearing shorts, legs are a bit chilly and two shirts one short sleeve one long sleeve (layering) and am just about warm enough. Cloudy, no sun yet today.

Yesterday afternoon was very wet, beach wedding I could see from our condo was bought forward I think, it was drizzly, no sun. They looked like they had a good time but would have been nice for them if the sun came out.

More if the same for the start of tomorrow. We are happy with the weather, dontneed it hot, enjoy beach walks etc.

Bring layers, it gets warm and then cold quickly.

We are here at the minute, it is raining today and tomorrow but We still have shorts and a t shirt on today. We each have a hoody which we put on on a nighttime. Last Wednesday was chilly so we had jeans, joggers on etc. Weather looks ok next week. I would pack shorts and t shorts but a few long sleeve tops, a hoody and 1 or 2 long trousers to be on the safe side . Enjoy x

Thanks everyone, and to think we booked hoping we would be able to get away from the almost incessant rain for Christmas! Fingers crossed it is drier than forecast for all out there over the next few weeks.
