Waitlist help?

Hi, I know I should really know this! but I've just rescheduled our cancelled October trip to March/April. The last night I need isn't available, so I've booked the rest of the nights. If I waitlist the last night and it becomes available, can I ring and add it to my booking so we don't have to change rooms for the last night? Mary thanks.

Yes, if the names match it might be auto merged, but you can call or use online chat to ask a CM to do it as well.

On the same subject sort of (Waitlists). I’ve booked 2 nights at beginning of week and 2 nights at the end and waitlisted the 3 in the middle. I know my chances aren’t good because there’s hardly any availability anywhere in November, not to mention the closed border. But I don’t really understand how waitlist works. Is it done in order of request? How often is it checked etc. I presume it’s automated (Disney IT not withstanding),or do they have CMs checking every so often.? This DVC malarkey is a steep learning curve🙄

It's done in order of request and it's an automated system which I think runs several, if not many, times a day constantly sweeping the system for matches. It's also possible though to snatch a room before the waitlist detects it if you're searching just or very soon after someone cancels.
