Worming Treatment - Cats
Hi All
Apologies, it appears my vets only open from 2.30 these days, so I thought I would ask on here. I need a working treatment for one of my cats, however, he absolutely will not tolerate a tablet. Is there another form I can get it from the vets in? They’re house cats, so it’s a really long time since I’ve had to do anything like this, however, we somehow (genuinely no idea how) had fleas at the start of lockdown, and I’m 99.9% sure the biggest one now needs worming as a result. I’ll do both, but whilst I can get a pill in the little one, it would be like wrestling an alligator with Moo, and I would lose! Thanks in advance Gill

I use Dronspot, goes on the back of the neck like flea treatment. Don't need to pick up from the vets, can order through Pets At Home, Fetch, etc.

Perfect news! Thank you so much both of you.
I did debate just Pets at Home, but I went there for flea treatment and it just didn’t work. I know the vets tends to be more expensive, but the stuff worked straight away from there xx

If you can't get either of those recommended we use Broadline 2 in 1 for ours
One syringe on the back of the neck on the skin, mine are mainly house cats with occasional sun bathing trips in my secured garden , I don't do mine as often as recommended as they dont mix with other cats and other animals can't get into our garden , probably do them every three months or so and a week before a cattery visit. |

Same! In fact, after their first year of checkups, jabs etc I’ve never had to do them. They don’t yet have a catio and they don’t go out. I was absolutely mortified when we found the fleas!
I’ve phoned the vets, and they’ve recommended some of the items mentioned in this thread, that can be bought cheaper from Pets at Home, so I’m going to call there on my way home shortly x

There is one called Milbermax Tasty which my cats have eaten with no trouble, but your moggie might not be so keen because they see the tablet which is small btw

Thank you!
I did his first dose of Dronspot last night - he was NOT happy with me ha ha. Fingers crossed he will start to put weight back on shortly. Second dose is in a month. Currently feeding them both up with some roast pork ha ha
