The Access Card is accepted at many other places as well - Zoo’s etc. It is very reasonable and we thought a great idea especially for some hidden disabilities.
The card helps the venues to clearly see what is required - so my DD would get the queue line card at the theme parks in the UK (return time given of entry through exit) and a free carer. But would not need a wheelchair or hearing help as these are not on her access card.
havent heard of the Access card, not aure how widely accepted it is, i see that it could be good, but who are they to decide whether you ‘qualify’ and how much is it?

accesscard.uk/ - I have attached the website, it is £15 for 3 years. It is accepted at all Merlin theme parks, most sea life centers, quite a few zoos as well. I contacted a Zoo who didn't show that they accepted it and got a wonderful response advising that they would happily accept it and we should book a carers ticket.

I guess the "who are they to decide whether you qualify" - its the same for most of the places you visit and ask to use a queue line card, or the DAS pass at Disney and Universal. It is always at those companies discretion. If they do not issue one then there is no harm done as it doesn't mean that you cant approach the places you wish to visit with the paperwork you have.

We got the gold card one year at Chessington, went to Alton Towers the following season and a young lady refused even though we had all the same (and some updated) paperwork that Chessington accepted.

I personally thought it was a great idea, paid our £15 and my DD has the card now - it will help that we will not have to take bundles of paperwork to a theme park in the UK now and just take the card with us.

My husband has the same problem, a wheelchair would not help him as sitting down for long periods also does not help his problem. He doesn't mind waiting the queue time as long as he can walk about during the wait. The DAS pass is for all member of the party as long as the holder of the pass is riding.

I do think there is a limit to 6 people Max attached to the main DAS holder rather then all members of the party.

Yep DAS is limited to 6 people so if you’re a part of 8, it won’t cover two of the party.

How would you know which person out of a group qualified for the DAS pass?

We usually have it, and nobody watching would ever know which person in our group qualified for it. It could also be that more than one person in the group. They aren't necessarily cheating the system.
Unless it has changed in the last couple of years, the qualified DAS pass holders magic band shows a blue light instead of green when held against the sensor. The DAS holder also has to enter the ride before the rest of the party.

There is some flexibility on this. You can definitely have more than 6 people on your pass. My daughter goes with lots of different people and has had much more than 6 at any one time. The issue is obtaining return times for more than 6 at one time. It is purely at the cast member's discretion. It can depend on crowd levels etc but we were often lucky when extended family were visiting.

You are always asked who on the list will be riding.

Dave
When the blue light shows the DAS holder's picture appears on a screen. The cast member is supposed to check it matches before turning the light green which then allows everyone else to check in.
