I know that I'm 75 but I think that I misunderstood your thread title.

I've never found currants to be a satisfactory or reliable substitute for toilet paper.

Oh Bless I'm not that far behind you agewise but even at your advanced age I'm sure you will be able find a You Tube video that explains the process somewhere

Reading the media and threads here, I realise that in my area we are very fortunate
Nothing seems to be out of stock as for a small town we have a lot of choice of places to shop
The Grape tree is a chain who always has dried fruit, vitamins etc alongside Holland and Barrett

We have at least a dozen Eastern European shops who never ran out of anything even during the lockdowns , they always had flour, sugar, yeast etc

We even have frozen peas!

It does seem very region specific as our supermarkets are stocked well , yes the prices are going up but I have had to alter my shop accordingly.
