Mobile Notary services

Hi all,

Just got back from the appointment with the solicitor who advised us he can notarize documents for our wedding licence.

He has signed the documents and then I asked about the stamp section on the left hand side and he said that he didn’t need to stamp it as long it’s all signed and he signed our passport copies we were good to go.

We had paid for this before going and he said that it would be fine. I’m not too sure and I’m panicking now in case we need to pay again!

Anybody any experience of this as I could really do without messing about..

Thanks

I very much doubt it will be recognised in the US as notarized without a stamp. Sounds like the solicitor doesn't realise it is a formal process in the US. When we had papers done in the UK I looked up a firm that advertised the service. It cost a ridiculous £80. Would have been less than $10 in the US. Have a search for older threads. I am sure this had been discussed before.

Im sure it has to be stamped. Ours were rejected twice i think in one of the stamp places they had wrote it. In the end we found a different solicitors and it cost us half price of orginal one and was done right first time

It has to be stamped, it’s part of the process. We did this for our wedding in 2012 and the notary did this, no problem.

I would go back and speak to them as it’s an official document
