Disney Hotel: which deluxe option to go for?

We are planning to go next May, staying for 5 nights of our stay at a Disney hotel to get free DDP. So, which of these options would you go for: Beach Club in a standard room; Contemporary in a Standard Garden Wing room or Wilderness Lodge in a Woods View and hope the building work has finished! We've stayed at WL for our two visits and we're looking for a change but love it there. Sooo tricky!

Always the BC for us

Fantastic location, walking to 2 parks, boardwalk with all it's facilities and entertainment.
Plus it's a fab resort

It is a tough call as I loved my stay at WL too, I've also stayed at the Epcot resorts including BC and the location is a huge win for me, but based on ambiance and 'feel' the WL won my heart. However, until the construction is finished I'm afraid I wouldn't return.

I think that's my number 1 choice too. My only concern is that we've always been close to MK, which the kids love, whereas Epcot is not a favourite of theirs (DD will be 14 and DS 9). They do like the look of Stormalong Bay though, whereas the Contemporary pool is not very inspiring. I'm very confused at the moment so it may just come down to price!

Clare, I think that's my worry. WL has such a good atmosphere which we will miss hugely. I'm hoping BC could live up to my expectations, whereas the Contemporary seems to have the ambiance of an airport terminal to me IMHO. It is close to MK though and isn't a building site! Can you tell I'm torn?😂

I've stayed at WL and BC and have to admit that BC wins all the way. Of course Epcot is my favourite park so I would go for that but also the whole atmosphere of that area. Although WL is a lovely hotel the dining options aren't as good as BC or the other resorts like YC, Dolphin & Swan and also Boardwallk. Your children will love Stormalong Bay and there is also a lovely quiet pool which we've seem to use most of the time and always is really quiet. A lovely walk to HS although it gets a bit hot to walk in the midday sun. Get a takeaway ice cream from Beaches & Cream and sit by the side of the water and I'm in heaven

difficult choosing isn't it? i have been having the same kind of dilemma for next yr. I stayed at BC last yr & had a great time but its not one that i would rush back to, although for others its their favorite and luckily we are all different!.I think for me next yr i will choose WL as i love it there even with construction. I dont believe Disney would sell rooms if they believed the construction would spoil someones holiday. & looking on trip ad visor it hasnt ruined anyone's stay. Having said all that it is fun trying new places and contemporary would be nice im sure..

I'd leave WL until the construction is done.
Contemporary garden wing is tempting for the location.
But I would choose BC ( or my favourite YC). We spent 18 nights at the YC and it was amazing. We had previously stayed at the Poly and I honestly feel the location of the Epcot resorts is the best on site. You can walk to 2 parks and are pretty much in the centre of everything.

It's a hard choice though but I'd definitely try an Epcot resort, it makes your onsite stay feel different choosing a different area.

we loved the location of the beach club. it's great to walk around the boardwalk at night and to hollywood studios and epcot. the quick service food options are fairly limited i would say but the sandwiches and flatbreads i have had were lovely.

we loved wilderness lodge, and it was a great plus being able to boat to magic kingdom! the quick service options were good. although we loved the rustic/woodland feel, beach club topped it for us. you could also get the boat to the contemporary which gives access to the monorail which is handy.

we are staying at bay lake tower this summer - excited for the walk to magic kingdom and staying somewhere new.

the one thing i would say is the bus service from all of these hotels is annoying, because they have to share buses with other hotels. the beach club with the yacht club, and the contemporary with wilderness lodge. this was a pain for us - and actually meant that other resorts such as Animal Kingdom Lodge and Saratoga Springs would be our recommendation over the others if you are only relying on disney transport!
