DVC Member Cruise - Oct 2019 - Day 1

We were toying with walking to the port (it's the same distance we had walked from Penn station) but wanted to arrive fresh and not sweaty. Cab it was.

Yellow cab called by busboy, fare was $10, well worth it. Cases dropped off curbside and into the terminal for the check in process. All was smooth and well handled, we arrived at 11:50 and were on board after being announced in that magical way.

On the way to the lifts we got the beer mug token and water for the room. Up to deck 9/10 for photos and a good look around. Hit the buffet with everyone else who hadn't eaten for at least an hour.

Sat in the sun for a while after meeting up with our friends who we'd arranged to share our table with.

Dropped hand luggage to the room as soon as we'd had the all clear then back up to start getting ready for the sail away. Champagne was being handed out so we took full advantage and enjoyed a few. Great sailaway party. We planned to stay up top until we were past the Statue of Liberty. We almost made it, it got a bit chilly and we chose dinner over a few more photos.

First night dinner was in Lumieres, show was Tangled. Quality show (of course!), followed by cocktails in Keys.

Ship looked fantastic with the Halloween decorations and the additional DVC Member branding.

Only 150 kids on board, most cruisers were older and most very very regular cruisers.

This was the 20th DVC cruise.
