Universal Advice for 2 Day Visits

We have not been to Universal for a number of years and decided to go again for 2 days on our trip in March/April. We are staying on site at Disney with free DDP so feel we are losing something when we are away for a couple of days!

Anyway, I often see people staying on site at Universal for a night to gain early entry. I got a quote for just under $900 for 4 of us for standard 2 day, 2 day tickets (dont need park hoppers). I considered Express Passes to make sure we get everything done in 2 days.

So is there any advice of a way to maximise these 2 days by staying on site? This would be during our 14 days at Disney so feel we are paying twice for accomodation, and already booked flights and POFQ so cannot add to end of holiday.

The price per Adult is $285 and $275 per child for 2 days and 2 parks from Universal studios.
So staying with tickets $900 and tickets on there own $1120. so no brainer

We were onsite at POFQ in August with free dining as well and booked 1 night at Loews Royal Pacific half way through the holiday for the express passes.

Took a couple of small backpacks with us and checked them into hotel in the morning. Picked up the passes and avoided most of the lines.

We got on all the rides over the 2 days and also saved on two taxi trips back and forward.

You can walk from the Royal Pacific to IOA/US 10-15 mins so very handy.

We paid £243 on ebookers for 1 night. Nearly half the price of express passes bought separately.

I would do it again as the express passes are worth it.

You are going in March/April you would need to check busy day to see if express passes would be needed as it is a less busy time of year.

The $900 is tickets only, its not park hoppers, the more expensive tickets you mentioned are park hoppers.

So 1 night you can still arrive first thing, but just do not have room access until later? What does the £243 include?

Yes we arrived at Royal Pacific about 8.30am. You can arrive earlier if needed.
You checkin/pick up your room keys which are also your express passes.
They text your room number later on in the day which you access after 4pm.
Check in your bags with luggage handlers and then walk over to the parks.

We used ebookers £243 was for a standard room (2A+2K) at RP.
1 night included express passes for both days. Also 1 hour early park admission to US.

We bought 2 Park 2 day tickets separately and direct from Universal Studios website $894.58. With a 3% CC charge added. You won't get on Hogwarts express with this though.

Edited at 08:07 PM.

Thank you for info. How do you know the Express Passes are included with the hotel?

If you’re staying at Royal Pacific, Hard Rock or Portofino Bay, you get the Express passes.

I also think that the hotel express pass is unlimited?
If you buy express passes you have a choice of unlimited or once per participating ride
