Bubba Gumps - Yes or no?!
Hi,
I was planning on going to Bubba Gumps for my 40th birthday in July but have read several lack lustre food reports recently Have you been recently? Was it good? 40th birthday good?! If not there - where else on Citywalk would you go? Casual, fun and suitable for kids too... TIA

We really enjoy Bubba Gumps. Can't comment on food recently but we've never had a problem.
We love the quiz and I always watch the movie before we go on holiday, not that I'm competitive, well maybe I am |

Like most of the themed restaurants you will find it splits opinion!
For us we found it expensive and rather lacklustre in terms of food, and would not bother going again. By the same token we love HRC, find it's well priced and never had a bad meal there but some people hate the place! |

Can't say we were overly impressed. Wouldn't particularly want to go back again and certainly wouldn't go for a special occasion.
We much preferred HRC too. Deb

We've always enjoyed bubba gumps but haven't ate there in a couple of years (I'm assuming cocktails alone don't count). It's fun and a nice atmosphere. Look into the Landry card if you haven't already with it being your birthday for money off.

Loved it this Easter - had a Landry card for priority seating. (taken straight to a table)
The food was wonderful. We had a fab server too, she was so much fun and very attentive. We had - shrimper's heaven(me - was REALLY nice!) - 4 types of shrimp, 3 dips, fries... ribs (DD13 does not DO seafood) she loved them. fish and chips (DH) said it was lovely, really light batter, not greasy, tasty fish. and DD15 Burger and fries - was ... a burger and fries... All the food was fresh and hot, we will go back next time. |

We last ate there 2014 and really enjoyed it. It's on our list for this year too. That said, unless you're a big Forrest Gump fan I'm not sure it's 40th birthday meal material. I spent my 40th at Le Cellier for lunch then Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner (I know, I'm greedy!).

We love it - it's great fun - yes, HRC is better (and louder!) - I'd prefer HRC for a birthday, but we never miss Bubba Gumps.

Excited about Disney
|
I didnt enjoy it, we waited 40 mins for a table (with a landrys card) Our starters had been down on the table not even 5 minutes when the mains arrived (luke warm) My sons gravy was that cold it was set in the dish. Our server did apologize & knocked one meal off the bill but it really spoilt it, I was so looking forward to going too I wouldnt go back. Cheesecake factory was my meal of the holiday
