We have the extra leg room seats (middle row of 4). I double checked with TC and they confirmed it was okay for age 12 to sit in these seats, but not the rows of 2 which are at the exit doors.

Oh my goodness thanks so much! We never book seats as ours are budget trips... i went onlline and tried to book but kept getting an error message so i went on to their online chat... they guy told me there was a glitch they were trying to fix as soon as possible so he could book them for me but it would be £300 for both flights. I said it was free online but he explained the glitch.
I then phoned thomas cook, while still on chat, i was on the phone for 3 minutes... seats booked. She didnt mention a glitch or cost. I asked before she left "can i make sure there is no cost?" And she said "no, balance is 0". Thanks very much nice lady on the phone!

Checked the email she sent out. Balance is infact £0.

Could they possibly be upping prices and droping charging for seats? As there are loads of threads in here about unfair seat charges. Everyone seems to want first come first serve.

I was just on thomas cook online chat, the guy said the me they had a glitch in seat booking and their technical staff were working as quickly as they could to fix it. He still wanted to charge me for seats. I then phoned them and got them for free.

I've just done this as well seemed to have worked for me as well. I also took some screen prints to show I had not been charged. Let's hope it doesn't change tomorrow if is I will call them like other folk have done

The prices for flights have definitely gone up recently. We booked next April (school hols for us) in Feb for £379. Same flight is now £580
Feb was the month to book it seems

Papamouse, will I be able to change my booked seats if I want too? Or will we have to stay where we have booked already? It's just we may be adding another passenger on to our party and would like to shuffle the seats about if we do?

Yes got PDF with confirmation it said I had been charged £80 4x 20 I don't know how as I never went to a payment page or entered any card details. Called TC who say seats are booked and I haven't been charged !

Woo hoo!

Lol. I seem to be the only person so far who has had an original balance of zero. Im not complaining. Lol.
Right back to uni work, trying to write a leterature reveiw and a 4000 word essay on risk is difficult when you are this excited.
