We have flown a different route every time. This year we are doing BA: NCL LHR JFK MCO. Taking the opportunity to stop on NYC on the way there.
Last year we flew delta from Manchester via Atlanta. A route that looks interesting is Aer Lingus via Dublin but I haven't tried that one yet. We've also gone direct from Glasgow which worked pretty well. We haven't flown direct from Newcastle in about 10 years. It is the easiest option but just far too expensive. |

We book 12 weeks in advance. Invest in a family and friends railcard. We buy ours using Tesco club card vouchers. Costs £15 in vouchers.
We book train tickets through red spotted hanky and buy them as singles rather than returns and just pick the cheapest times. They are quite frequent. |

Nice to have further options We are so restricted on getting cheap flights here in Newcastle Looked at the BA option from London But the transfer from LHR to LGW puts me off Why they stopped flights from Newcastle to LGW !

we live in Newcastle and have flown from Manchester to Sanford before, however we found the journey back from Manchester to Newcastle a nightmare.
I would have considered Newcastle via dublin as have done this for New York and no issues. We are going next summer and have just paid the extra to fly from Newcastle - less hassle, less time off work, home in 20 minutes from airport, yes it was dearer, but suits us better. |

Hiya BB Tired of flying into (out of, not so much) London airports due to the slaver of FlyMayBe delays (every time!) to the Toon. Formerly flew LGW to Charlotte to Fort Myers. 2012 we began flying VA Man to MCO then driving down to SW Fl. We find Man easy, let the train take the strain the day afore, overnight at Heald Green Premier Inn.
We flew from Dublin, Nov 2015, that, for us, was a breeze, so much so I'm actively researching Dublin options for this winter. Charter airlines aren't an option due to winter travel/Fl long stay.

Hi, we're in Gateshead, the last time we went direct with virgin from Manchester but got a mini bus there and back as there were 9 of us so no one had to suffer driving home. We are booked for next year but no flights yet. I would have considered Thomson from Newcastle but flight days are no good for us. Considered flying through Dublin but apparently none of the flights back from Florida land early enough to to catch the early flight back to newc which means hanging round dublin airport until the afternoon flight. It's gonna be from glasgow or manchester for us I think as aim to do virgin premium economy, by car or train staying over the night before going out.
